Who we are

Waterline is a digital growth consultancy in Franklin, Tennessee. This policy covers waterline.co, including the free website scan, the contact form and the client dashboard. Questions about it go to info@waterline.co.

What we collect

When you run a free scan

• The website address you enter, and the results of the scan.
• The scan reads that site's public pages and saves a screenshot of it. That is information about a website, not about you.

When you unlock the full report

• Your email address. We use it to send you the report, and we may follow up about the results.

When you send an inquiry

• Your name and email address, plus your company and website if you add them.
• What you tell us about the project, timeline and budget.

When you use the client dashboard

• Your sign-in email address and two-step verification settings.
• The websites you add. If you choose to connect them, we also receive read-only data from your Google Search Console and Google Analytics accounts.

Automatically, when you visit

• Our hosting and database providers record standard request details, like IP address, browser type and the page requested, to keep the site secure and running.
• The scan, report and contact forms have limits to prevent abuse. To enforce them we store a scrambled (hashed) form of your IP address, never the address itself.
• We count page views with Vercel Web Analytics, which does not use cookies.

How we use it

• To run scans and deliver reports.
• To reply to inquiries and provide the services you ask for.
• To follow up about your scan results or inquiry. You can opt out at any time.
• To keep the site secure, prevent abuse and fix problems.
• To understand which pages are useful and improve the site.

We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not use it for targeted advertising.

Emails from us

When you unlock a report, we email it to you and add your address to our contact list so we can follow up. Every follow-up email includes an unsubscribe link. You can also email info@waterline.co and we will take you off the list.

Scan reports

Each scan report has its own private link. Anyone you share that link with can view the report, so share it only with people you choose. Reports do not show your email address.

Cookies

The public site does not use advertising or tracking cookies. The client dashboard uses essential cookies to keep you signed in. Your light or dark mode choice is saved in your own browser and is not sent to us.

Who we share it with

We use a small number of service providers to run the site. They handle data only on our behalf:

• Vercel: hosting and page-view counts.
• Supabase: our database and dashboard sign-in.
• Resend: sending email.
• OpenAI: reviewing the public text and screenshot of websites that are scanned.
• DataForSEO: search ranking data for websites added to the dashboard.
• Google: only if you connect Search Console or Google Analytics to the dashboard.

We may also share information if the law requires it, to protect the rights or safety of Waterline or others, or as part of a merger or sale of the business.

Google data

If you connect Google Search Console or Google Analytics, we ask only for read-only access, and we use the data only to show reports about your own website in your dashboard. We do not sell it or use it for advertising. You can disconnect it in the dashboard, or remove Waterline's access in your Google Account, at any time.

Waterline's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

How long we keep it

We keep scan records, email addresses and inquiries for as long as they are useful for the purposes above. You can ask us to delete your information at any time.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and access is limited to the people who need it. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your information.

Your choices

You can ask us to:

• Send you a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
• Correct it.
• Delete it.
• Stop sending you follow-up emails.

Email info@waterline.co with your request. We will reply within 30 days.

Children

This site is for businesses and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will post the new version here and update the date at the top.
